** WE WILL REQUIRE THE HARNESS OUT OF THE RECIPIENT VEHICLE  (The vehicle you are installing the new engine in to) **

Direct-fit GM LSx/Vortec harness for 1991-2000 OBS Chevy/GMC  Silverado / Sierra, Suburban, Tahoe / Yukon) (1500,2500,3500,Diesel)

Our Direct-Fit custom wiring harnesses are true plug-and-play custom built to order harnesses that are designed specifically for your project utilizing 97-up LSx or Vortec small block engines. Each harness is built from scratch specifically for your engine and vehicle combination. In most cases a Direct-Fit harness will allow you to retain all of the factory vehicle functions including factory gauges, ABS, and cruise control when doing an engine swap.

The main difference between our Direct-Fit custom harnesses and a standalone engine management harness is that the custom harness is exactly that… CUSTOM! Meaning it is built specific to your application. A standalone engine management harness is cheaper because it is designed to do nothing except run the engine and supply basic signals such as speedometer and tachometer outputs. A custom harness is built to include all of the functions that your vehicle will use, such as the original factory gauges, body connectors that go to or through the firewall, relays to control the fans via the computer and A/C, and we will utilize the factory Neutral Safety switch functions when possible.

A Direct-Fit custom harness from Current Performance Wiring contains all of the electrical connections that are required for your project vehicle. These harnesses include relays for the fuel pump, starter, fans, A/C, etc. All fuses that are not in the vehicle already are included in the complete custom harnesses as well.

This harness is not only designed to plug right in to the project vehicle and engine, but since they are completely built from scratch, they can be made to your specs. If you are going for a clean install and want the ECU inside the passenger compartment, or all the way back in the trunk, we can make it exactly how you need. Installing a supercharger and need a relay for intercooler pump? Not a problem.

Direct-Fit Custom Harnesses come covered in standard OE split loom but optional Braided loom is available for an extra charge, and is installed on the harness for you.

We build custom plug-and play-harnesses for the 97-up LS1, and Vortec engines, as well as Gen V LTx style (Ecotec 3) engines from 2014-up. The C10 and C/K trucks are a very popular vehicle for engine swaps of all kinds. Have a look through the tabs above to choose your specific application to see more details about the options we can provide.

The majority of your wiring harness should simply plug in to your vehicle with out issue. However, you should notice a Dark Green wire coming from the Passenger side rear of the harness marked “Temp. Gauge”. This wire feeds the signal to the coolant temperature gauge in the vehicle’s gauge cluster. The newer vehicles no longer use this type of signal, therefore, they do not have a signal anywhere that can run to this wire for your gauge. It will be necessary to remove the sender from the original engine (Figure 1), or purchase a new one, and place it somewhere in the cooling system of the new engine. A good place for this is in the passenger side head towards the back where a hole is blocked off (Figure 2). This hole can be drilled and tapped for the new sending unit using a 3/8” NPT tap. There are other methods such as multiple adapters, but they often cause issues with the accuracy of the sending unit.

Alternatively, you may choose to drill and tap a hole in the water pump near the filler neck, install a bung in the Radiator, or somewhere inline of a cooling hose. These are all just suggestions, and the vehicle can run without this sending unit being installed at all, the temp. gauge in the dash will simply not work.
